Sunder and Enlightening

In this series, I use reimagined patterns drawn from ancient Iranian motifs, rugs, textiles, and fabrics alongside patterns I encounter in my new environment. I often combine printed surfaces with handmade paper collages. I am drawn to the tension between repetition and variation, where an image can remain recognizable while changing through each iteration. Handmade paper has been especially meaningful to me as a fragile material connected to memory and trace. I also hand-alter all my works with gold, silver, and shifting color ink. More recently, I have opened my work up to more narrative possibilities, with figures that exist in uncertain spaces and resist fixed identities, between spaces of transformation and becoming.
