2016- Paper Mache & Mixed Media- 23*23*4 cm
Statement: These works were created by collecting cardboard, papier mache and used junk Kurdish fabrics from my hometown Sanandaj, Iran. For me this collection was such a performing custom ceremony inspired by worldview of Wabi-sabi, these works were created entirely handmade by using handmade papers and Papier-mâché. I created handmade papers in traditional style by using dyer’s-weeds. After I completed my collages I de-collage the whole work in different ways to mention the concept of destruction in social ethnic identity. In this collection I used fabrics of custom dresses which are worn at ceremonies of the Kurdish people who perform a traditional dancing while taking each other hands and standing shoulder to shoulder. They dance around a circle with their feet motions.
